Painted Sylph Resin

Two days ago I had a wonderful horsey parcel day!

I was going to hair my Totilas model but he is so wonderful, I am going to leave him as he is (and maaaybe order another one...!) but I had my Sylph resin in the morning, and by the afternoon I had finished prepping and painting him. I did it very quickly and the prepwork was really little work and limited.

I have named him Pearl.

He is really photogenic and has so many nice angles!

I can't wait to enter him into some fantasy classes - now that they have included it in BMECS/NAN I am very excited!

  1. Clare - they are so beautiful! What sealer do you use? I am finding it difficult to get hold of more Testors Dullcote, is there any alternative that is good for pastelling?
    Thanks,

    1. Hi Charlotte! I use Games Workshop Purity Seal Spray. It costs me about £10 a can and there is quite a lot in one tin. I don't pastel anymore but I did use it the other day for an attempt at pastelling and it worked ok! :)

    2. Thank you! I just had a look at it and it seems a lot cheaper than Dullcote - one can of Testors Dullcote is 85ml, and it cost me about five pounds! But there is 400ml in the ones from Games Workshop.
      :D

    3. Yes I think it is cheaper!! See how you get on with it anyway. I think it smells a bit nicer than Dullcote too. :P
