Peridot - New Micro in Progress

Back at the end of 2013, I started two micro mini sculptures; Topaz, a rearing Arabian, and Garnet, a Hackney.

I was going to get them cast, but wanted to have sculpted at least three minis before making it worth while and sending them off. I have FINALLY started that third sculpture. Peridot, a knabstrupper, is the next I am working on...

He didn't look to glamorous when I first started out!

They never do, though.. This is because I have to build the micros up slowly at a time as I use apoxie sculpt and I can add details and wait for them to set and harden, before working on them some more. As I was just getting the shape here, I build it up slowly as to not to squish him!

He is still in the very rough stages, there is so much more I want to do with him. His face needs lengthening, his legs most definitely need sorting (I have deliberately sculpted them as sausages at this stage, and I will get my needle files on them soon enough!) and he needs more f a barrel and hasa slightly broken back right now!

I can't wait to just keep plugging away at him. I need to also finish Garnet, the Hackney. Topaz is impatient as she has been done for over a year now!
