Royal Windsor Horse Show 2016

Back at the end of May, I went to the RWHS 2016 with my Dad and my Gran. It was a lovely day out, as usual, and I was happy because the camera I used was my Nikon 1, one that had broken when I took it to America back in the summer of 2014. I got it fixed finally and I am now able to use it again. I hadn't realised how much I had missed it!

When we first arrived, we went to the arena that was doing the hunter trials. There were some tough turns on this course, including a double combination jump in a corner! It was quite an imaginative round. There were some gorgeous ponies competing too.

We then had a wander around as I noticed that an Appaloosa in hand class was going to start on the other side of the show grounds. We stopped by a warm-up arena where we saw some Arabians being walked, some other horses being ridden and also a couple of Friesians!

Then the appaloosas started to arrive. Both my Dad and Gran had never seen a true appaloosa horse before in all their spots and glory, so that was a treat to show them! The first horse, a pure leopard spot, was so chunky and handsome!

There were some other spotties as well nearby, preparing for the ridden class.

Later on in the day we moved into the main arena at the show and watched two rounds of 4* showjumping. It was very intense and as always a great show was put on by all those competing. My gran and Dad also really enjoyed the thrill of it, and cheered the riders on to beat the time of the one before.

There were a few mishaps...

But I am pleased to say that no one was hurt throughout the day which is the main thing. It definitely inspired me to start jumping again at home, though!

I will have more studio updates soon, I promise... :o)
