Studio News and Updates

This blog post is well and truly overdue! I am so sorry to have kept everyone in the dark for so long, and I haven't painted a horse at all this year yet! Hopefully this will explain everything...

As a lot of you know, I have been training to practice as a Pharmacist and this meant moving. Unfortunately this also meant no room for a studio, and I have been studying hard all year. This is all about to pay off however as I will be taking my exam soon. Wish me luck! I will be temporarily be able to paint in August and September, but soon I will be finding elsewhere to live which WILL have space to paint, and I will no longer be studying as much. So things are looking up!

But what do I have in the Studio right now?

1. Hornet
Hornet, my jumping resin from Maggie in the States, still needs to be finished prepping and then I am going to paint him a bright dapple bay with a mohair mane and tail. I have ordered a base for him too, a nice clear acrylic rod one, so he will really stand out.

2. Animal Artistry Andalusian
This model has been my absolute grail since I first discovered the hobby ten years ago (TEN years!!) I finally have one! I am going to give this one a mohair mane and tail too, but I am currently stuck on a colour... Part of me is thinking a midnight bay, or perhaps a rose dapple grey... I have no idea right now!

There is no photo of this one I am afraid... But as soon as I start working on him you WILL know about it!

3. Breyers Galore!
I have about thirteen Breyer Traditionals that are in need of a new lease of life, and I cannot wait to give it to them.

As well as this photo, I also have a Breyer Newsworthy that needs to be painted up. These will certainly keep me busy for a while!

And an update on my Icelandic Sculpture...

Unfortunately, due to a lack of interest, the casting and moulding for Storm will not go ahead. Instead, he will remain as a unique sculpture of mine that I will more than likely end up painting (along with Azucena). I will be, however, creating a miniature version in the near future. So keep an eye out!

I hope this has cleared things up a bit. As for commissions... My books are still closed for the time being but I might open one or two slots in August... I will keep you all informed and if you would like to be added to a waiting list for me to contact you, do let me know!
