Two Breyer Traditionals

One is a realistic model, the other not so much... For the past month or so I have been working on Breyer's Connemara pony sculpted by SWB to a unicorn. I have had a slight bit of trouble throughout working on her but she is finally finished and I am pleased that she is done, and she has turned out as I had imagined.

She does have light dappling in places on her coat, but unfortunately the photos do not reflect this which is slightly frustrating. But I guess you will have to take my word for it and I will possibly get better photos at some point. You may even see her in the flesh if I manage to get her out to some live shows!

The horn, tail and beard were all sculpted by me. I could have bought a horn for her but I thought making one that wasn't 100% perfect would add to the charm and make her look somewhat more realistic in a way.

I was also debating on what colour to do the horn for ages! It went from white to grey, to black, back to white... Eventually I decided to try the golden yellow hue colour and I thought it was perfect.

The second model I have here to show you, wasn't resculpted by me but by a lady I believe to be called Elizabeth Bull (do correct me if I am wrong!) she did a lovely job on the mane, and I bought the body second-hand in order to spruce up and paint. I was going to do him as a tobiano but I thought his colour was so rich and nice the way it was, it didn't need any jazzy white markings to make him stand out any more.

Again, the photo quality is poor and so I can only apologise. This was the first model that I painted fully with my new airbrush! The airbrush is great to work with and use.

The extra mane makes such a huge difference to this model as well, instead of the plaits that the OF has (that aren't particularly realistic!).

This Totilas model is for sale, he is currently priced at £90 including postage to the UK.

I need to get cracking with my other models, I need to prep them for painting still. I do have a Copperfox Welsh though that I have been working hard prepping for a good long while now. He is finally ready for paint, so I am hoping to have him finished soon as well!

I'm A Little Pony...

Short and stout,

Here is my butt...

And this is my snout!

I couldn't resist, haha! XT is being a bit of a cheeky monkey but I guess he is a pony, after all. He also goes by other names such as Maggot and some explicits... Oops! I am looking after him all of next week while I have some holiday time from work. We have been on a small hack and doing jumps and he has been ace.

I have also been dabbling in the studio as well, all of last week we had such dreadful and wet weather in general, so I couldn't get any painting of sorts done at all. But I have these two in progress that should be done this coming week.

I cannot wait to finish them...
