Some Commission Horses

I have had a super busy month! From attending the Royal Windsor Horse Show (photos will be in a separate post) to even visiting Legoland and MCM Comic Con, but I have had time to paint other people's horses, as well as my own (these will be in another separate post as well!). Hence the lack of posts this month. Apologies! Some of these horses will be debuting at shows next month, too, which is always exciting.

I know I have shared him before, but he needs to be shared again. This lovely Copperfox Welsh commission to a dark livery flaxen chestnut. I would have kept him!

This second model is a resculpted Breyer Classic that came from The Netherlands for his new coat, a dark dappled palomino. He has the soft grey shading around his eyes, and muzzle too.

The palomino also has another friend here, who I will be finishing later today. They will both be attending a show in a couple of weeks time back at home, where I hope they do well! The resculpting work wasn't done by me, it was done by the owner.

Next up is the CollectA Fjord I painted to a flaxen chestnut (it seems to be a popular colour of mine!). He had been gelded by his owner and I will be taking him to A Show Of Two Halves (ASOTH) on their behalf on Sunday 11th June. I can't wait, it will be my first show in a while, especially one that I am not hosting myself!

The owner is also sending me another CollectA model of hers, and I received some reference pictures last night. I look forward to him arriving so I can get cracking.

The last one I have to show you is my very own Todd medallion who decided to pay me a visit after living in Scotland for the past six years or so. He has been painted to a portrait of his owner's pony, and I am happy to say she loves the way he has turned out! Although, he is female now.

I am afraid my two commission slots for June are now filled, I didn't want to take on as much this month coming as I do still have two other ponies on the go commission-wise. I will let you know when I have slots available next. If you would like me to let you know or add you to a waiting list, please contact me!

Breyer Pepto to a Medicine Hat

Finally finished this one, and he is my first haired model horse in a long, long time! I am honestly unsure of the last time I haired a model. I loved doing it as well, he had been sat with his paintwork 99% finished on my shelf and then I decided to finally get a wiggle on last night after work.

Taking off his mane and tail was easy peasy, and I even used his tail on another model I painted, the bay tobiano Valegro in this post.

I have to shoot off now, so speak soon!

New resin in progress - Xavier

Meet Xavier, a model that I have been working on for the past week or so now. I built the armature and have been sculpting him with apoxie sculpt rather than my normal clay. It is good, because it means that I can do a bit at a time and it sets after a couple of hours, so then I don't keep squishing details and have to redo them!

I know I still need to fix the off foreleg, it is too long so I need to get a saw and chop it off! It is ok, I have already done it with the head when I was starting out sculpting him. He has come along so quickly in such a short period of time, and I am so excited to be able to share him!

He is larger than a stablemate model, but smaller than a Little Bit model. So he is a proper mini scale resin!

Can't wait to finish him, I have had some lovely responses so far.
