Newest medallion... 'Aishiteru'

Meet the lovely mare and foal pair, sculpted by me that I finished just before Mothers' Day here in the UK! Being completely stumped for a name to call them, I held a mini competition across my social media platforms where the contestant with the best name suggestion would win. The one that caught my eye the most was the word 'Aishiteru' which is a Japanese word meaning a great sense of endearment towards something. I think it captures the pair perfectly!

I cast the pair in white resin, but I recently obtained two coloured pigments and I wanted to use them, creating a silvery one and two pink ones!

I also tried one of the pigments in some polyester resin, which dries clear. I need to get a photo of the finished thing, it is rather lovely. I think this pair will also look great painted! I can't wait to get started.

This particular pose inspired me while I was browsing on my Pinterest. I also saw a gorgeous longeared couple and I very nearly initially sculpted the original as a donkey mum and baby. However, since the original sculpt escaped the moulding process with no damage, I couldn't resist...!

Hopefully I will get this pair finished up soon and I can offer the medallions up for general sale.
